Mind Methods were proud to be the local marketing agency for the official FIFA Club World Cup Tour Exhibition in Australia, following the success of local club Western Sydney Wanderers FC in the AFC Champions League.

Background & History

The Champions of the two most powerful footballing continents (South America & Europe) have been competing for many years in order to determine who can truly be crowned as the greatest Football Club in the World each year. This original edition between these two powerhouse continents was called the Toyota Cup, however in recent years the tournament has expanded to include the other major continents, making it a truly global event. 

 
 

The 2014 Edition

Australian teams had always competed within the Oceania region, but on 1 January 2006 the Football Federation of Australia moved from the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). In 2014 a true landmark in Australian football was achieved as one of our very own local clubs won the prestigious and hotly contested AFC Champions League. This granted them entry into the prestigious FIFA Club World Cup 2014 as Asia's representative, where they will be competing against the some of the best Football Clubs on the planet including 10-time European Champions Real Madrid.

FIFA Club World Cup Tour

With the Champions of each continent being decided around the globe, FIFA embarked on their FIFA Club World Cup Tour which kicked off in Buenos Aires. This Tour was designed to further promote the prestigious Club Football trophy across the globe, with a special focus on regions outside of the dominant South America & Europe.

The Tour has continued on as it travels to each continent, visiting the city of the champion in that continent. Together with FIFA's primary agency Dentsu and Swiss-based Athletics Management Services (AMS), Mind Methods were the locally based agency charged with bringing this magnificent trophy to life through a local exhibition capturing the size and scale of World Club Football's ultimate prize.

 
 

Great Exhibition & Team Effort

Mind Methods supported FIFA and their international agencies in achieving a high quality exhibition, and thanks to the support of a strong team,  the trophy was exhibited in Parramatta, the heart of Western Sydney Wanderers FC. The trophy had also made it's way into Fox Studios, so stay tuned as the Fox Sports team present a segment on the trophy. Mind Methods looks forward to continuing the relationship into the future and being further involved in marketing for the the World game of football!
